Tried feeding my fish like this with a baster, they all hid and didn't come out. If I stick my fingers in the tank with the frozen food and defrost it in the tank, they all come running..... Go figure.....
So bizarre how different things can be from tank to tank. As soon as I tap feed mode on the pumps theyre all in that corner just waiting. Sometimes it seems they know they're getting fed before I do!

My fish are the same way. Its like they can hear the freezer door open because they are all up at left center of the tank waiting.

Howzzzit goin mang?
Well considering I haven’t been spending all my waking hours on the tank one might say we’re treading water.... The SPS dream is dead! I have a bubble alge problem that Keith so kindly pointed out while I was in utter denial about it... LoL Preparing a water change tonight so tomorrow I can cut out enough dead skeleton to fill a CRx reactor and make room to place the survivors on the rock work. We’ll be moving to a true mixed reef with mostly squishy/bouncy stuff and I’m totally cool with it! Couple recent acquisitions cuz well people like picture.

Same piece but filtered. It glows hard enough to warp the camera.

Hermits used to eat Acans but since I have no hermits these days we’ll try again.

Just placed a cleanup crew order from Reef Cleaners. 3 emeralds and a whole bunch of snails. If the emeralds touch my squishy/bouncy I’ll eat them myself!

He’s upped his game a bit since the last time I ordered there. Better selection of snails than I remembered with Astrea, Mexican Turbo’s and Trochus. Used to only carry Nerites and smaller little things.

Just realized we missed the 2 year tankaversary about a month ago... Sadly it looks much the same. Very few living corals. The rock is at least covered in dead SPS skeleton so at least it doesn’t look new! o_O

Awesome tank, I like wrasses too! I want to eventually get some kind of flasher wrasse for my 29 but at the moment my wallet doesn't agree.
Thank you and welcome to the build! Its been quite neglected the last 3 months or so due to a new puppy but Im trying to put some time back into the reef and forum.

some flashers get bigger than others but you may do well with a Blue if you can find one. Mine has stayed quite small thus far though that could be a direct result of the other bigger fairies I have.

Thanks for the advice. I've read that flasher and fairy wrasses are a little better behaved than some other species. I know some other kinds of wrasse I've had in the past can be bullies and I'd like a more peaceful tank this time around. Have you found this to be true?

There is only a clownfish and watchman goby in the tank currently. I'll probably start a build thread when I get the chance.

Generally speaking Fairies and Flashers are pretty mild mannered if kept with non wrasse tank mates. Combining multiples can change the narrative some but done right I think even some of the species most say you shouldn’t mix can actually be mixed. At least I’ve had luck there where I probably shouldn’t have per most of my reading.

But yeah, you should be fine with no other wrasses in the tank. 29g might be small for fairies but one flasher should do fine.

Good luck! If you start a build tag me so I pop in for a visit.
