Hey there,

Seeking an ID on the spider/mite I observed this morning on my glass tank (in a group of about 20). There are thousands I am certain.

The tank is a mixed reef. No Zoas. SPS and LPS, as well as a diversity of fish including yellow and melanurus wrasses. Everything was quarantined for 30 days+ and all frags dipped in Bayer as well as Revive or Rx. Appears some eggs got through.

Many thanks,
RP

PS - @Humblefish ... curious if you have any experience/knowledge on these.

Any knowledge/experience with how these contribute/feed in our systems? I'm guessing/hoping this is more of an algae consumer than a fish or invertebrate parasite.
I find them in my system as well. Just bumbling around the detritus. They are known as herbivores. (although some species could be predatory - on things like amphipods etc).
