Hi all,

I’d like to setup a peninsula 65 gallon 4 foot AIO on my second floor. Must this be against a load bearing wall or would I be able to have this extend out into the middle of my room as long as it’s perpendicular to the joists? I’m in a 20 year old home with hardwood floors.

Thanks for any help!

I'm no structural engineer but as long as it is going perpendicular to the joists on a relatively new house (with standard construction) I wouldnt worry about it.

65 is not too big. I have a 91, but mine is against a load bearing wall. I think you will be fine, BUT I’m no structural engineer either :)
