Well here we go again. After a little more than a year my 10 ft long 38” wide 28” tall acrylic tank came back to me. I made this tank about 3 years ago and set it up in the worse possible..and only location in my house I could fit a tank this size, our oversized laundry room. Yes I know. Crazy to set up in there but being able to build tanks is a real curse in a way. I just kept wanting to go bigger and bigger lol. Well fast forward till a few months ago and circumstances have changed. My father in law moved out so now there’s a free room. The biggest one in the house too. Downstairs and all. So after building a 375 to set up the new owner of my old tank decided he needed more room in his store so we made a trade and it’s back. Scratches up some but I’ve been working on sanding and buffing it out which I’m sure will bring it back to even better shape than it was when it left. I also got my 2 ati 8 bulb fixtures back and a sump they had custom built that’s 72x30x22. Alright enough. Here’s a few pics. Also picked up a bunch of dry rock. Layed out on the stand I think I got almost enough. I’m so stoked to get this back. The new spot for it will make it so much more enjoyable to have and easier to work on. It was so cramped where it was last time. Plus having it before there was changes I wanted to make to how it was plumbed and now I get to make those changes!

There is a sysiphean-like feeling to struggling around a large tank situated in a spot where maintenance is difficult. How long did you have it up in the laundry room?

Nice that you got your tank back. Good luck with the build :)

Got the new overflows made for the tank. In the original set up the overflows were made out of 1.5-4” abs couplers that I cut teeth into but they only got water from the surface. This time I wanted to design an overflow system that also took water from low in the water column. If you look at the pics you can see there is 2 - 1/2” slots in behind the bottom grill for water to get drawn into and flow over the top of the wier. The grills are also removable for cleaning. I’m really happy with how they turned out. I also have over 300 pounds of crushed coral on the way for the filter
