Finally made the tank move. Still plenty of work to do in here. The bar needs bottles, the room needs trim, the stand needs panels and trim, the tank needs more sand fish and corals. But all in all the Reef Bar is coming along.

Definitely need to find a solution to penninsula light mounting as well. Probably something along the lines of what reefdudes did with the 80/20 if I can find a proper parts list for it.

Haven't updated this since August of last year. Not because anything happened to the tank, but when i wanted to clean up my thread a little i realized i couldnt edit anything and made it feel like it wasn't mine so i lost the desire to work on it. Luckily I was given a bit of access to clean up some of the clutter. Thank you admins.

Everything is doing well now... but to catch up on the last 8 months since my last post, it wasnt until november that things started really inproving. Long story short, the dinos came back after that tank move... makes sense.... worked so hard to elevate nutrients past 0 to get out of it... then moved to new house with 60 percent brand new clean water.

I had the hang of fighting it by now though and several products on hand so got right to it and they never got much worse then this picture from October. I started getting patches of cyano and a fuzzy turf algae so that was good.

In November I got a reef octopus hob skimmer for my sump and that made an enormous difference skimming out the free swimming dinos at night and when I blew off the rocks. It was under control and corals were coming back to life but it still was ugly.

Beginning of January I got my UV sterilizer and that was the big gun I needed and wiped out the dinos completely and the turf algae followed.

Got the light bars up. Only running them for a couple hours a day after the peak of my schedule as they add a lot of intensity and I'm afraid of burninh my corals. Will eventually get these on a timer in a couple weeks after slow increases in duration since I can't adjust them to be a lower power. All in all I love them. Really brightens the whole tank up. I'll try to take good pics one of these days. These pics were focused on the unit so the tank looks pretty saturated.

Pictures are a lot harder with the extra blue from these bars. Will have to spend some time figuring out the best way. Might have to use the external orange lenses or something.

Thanks man! Took a lot of time and effort to make. Definitely a couple changes I'd make since it's in action now as they're a tight fit. Maybe I just need to upgrade to a larger tank now

I know everyone complains about gsp but I still think it's one of the coolest corals out there. I might do a fowlr soon and cover the whole thing in gsp

Made a couple changes to the tank so figured I'd update the thread. My green anemone was getting too big for the center of my tank and was occasionally making contact with an acro on one side of it and a stylo on the other. Not only that but red bta recently split so was also taking up more space. Also my beloved gsp rock was branching and connecting itself to my main aquascape and in need of some heavy trimming.

First change was relocating the gsp nsa to its own little jbj 15g aio on the bar.

That pile of gsp on the sand were the trimmings and have gone to the lfs since the pics.

Second change was moving my anemone rock to that front corner. This was always kind of part of the plan as that gsp rock was added just for extra habitat while the tank was young. Was always meant to be removed after coral grew in. I think everything flows much better now in the tank.

The room itself has gotten a little attention also. Added a couch and moved the marble table. Will try to take some good pictures of some of my corals eventually but just haven't figured out how to take good pics of them yet.

This last picture is about the only decent coral picture ive ever taken.

Thanks. I appreciate that. Put a lot of work into it. If only I could keep the sand white. Always has little patches of dinos . I think they're with me forever. But as long as they stay in the sand I can't really complain too much.

A few recent pics everything growing really well. Some hair algae. Will work on that this weekend. Been a busy summer and the tank has been on cruise control... will be making a new command center for controls and dosing soon so there will be some cool changes and upgrades. Also I've been designing a sweet fish room that is starting to become a reality so I'll post some pics of that project too once there is more to show.

Ok. The "Reef Lab" project is underway. Subfloor is painted with waterproof deck paint... although still some gaps, don't care right now. Will caulk them later. Walls are painted. New cabinets are here. Water storage/mixing station is here, still needs some tlc but it's pretty awesome. Utility sink and 3d printer are here too.

Next step is to clear out the clutter and organize all my extra tank stuff. That shelf and desk are going in the shed. Thats where the mixing station and sink are going.

After that I'll be mounting the cabinets to the wall and framing out the space between for the countertops i need to get. Also considering paint options for cabinets and window/door trim... and find a less ugly solution for that ridiculous air conditioner window situation.

since those werent the most exciting pictures, i figured id throw in my floppy basset hounds sleeping on each other for good measure.

oh, and say hello to the newest member of my house. He's in my nsa gsp tank on other side of room from the sps tank. His craftsmanship skills are impressive. I want to find more interesting items for him.

Thanks! I just wish my tank was about 6 inches wider and longer so I could space things out a little more. I'll probably upgrade the tank in a couple years to something similar but a bit wider and deeper.
