There’s been a slight change in plans, by the way. I had plans to keep the fish out for a while and make sure no parasites were moving into the new tank. I’ve had the clown in qt for a while on suspect of velvet (though it wound up being severe lymphocytosis), so decided to put my Aurora goby with the clown for just a while to monitor both. Not within an hour, the clownfish completely wrecked the goby’s fins and scales. It was really late at night at that point, so I decided to skip quarantine and even acclimation, and just threw the goby into the tank. So far she’s taken refuge with the pistol shrimp (hopefully they finally pair!) and is still doing alright this morning. She’s pretty battered up, though. I can’t believe how nasty that clown is!
So not only has the goby wound up moving immediately into the main display, but it’s very likely that the clown will not be going into the 40 gallon, on account for being perhaps the worst clownfish alive…

Update: The Quarantine tank is all set up and ready for its first inhabitants! I’m gonna start with the CB angel and Hawkfish just because I can see them being the hardest to train onto certain foods, medicate, etc. I’m ordering them online, which I’ve always disliked doing, but they are at pretty good prices. I’ll just go heavy on the copper and levamisole, because I simply don’t trust online vendors that much, after a few rough experiences in the past…

Following along.
What do you think of the Tidal filter? I was going to pick one up for a qt setup because I liked that the pump is in the water so it self primes and you can use whatever media you want in it. Or did I get that wrong?
Also following along. I have used the SeaChem Tidal filters for about a year now. I absolutely love them. The media basket is large and easily removable. There is plenty of room for whatever type of media you want to run. I am currently running 2 Tidal 110's on my 150 Tall Coral Display Tank. I plan on picking one up for my quarantine tank as they would be perfect for that. Enjoying the build! Djstud

When I get the angel and hawk, any ideas if I should start with levamisole (expires soon so I’d like to use it first) or copper (got a bad feeling I’m gonna be greeted with ich or velvet)? Or I guess that’s gonna depend on what is most prevalent. Can they be mixed?

If those were my choices I would go levamisole first then copper if I was suspicious. I guess it depends on how scrupulous you want to be.

I am terrified of introducing anything anything so I would push it to the extreme. I have a good thing going and don't want to ruin it.

So far, everything is doing great except for the frogspawns. If you’ve seen my previous build, I’m sure you’re familiar with their present condition, and basically the whole reason this upgrade happened…

Also, the heater must have been damaged during shipping, because it didn’t work at all. I tried to run the tank at room temperature while waiting for the new heater, but I don’t think the corals appreciate it very much, so I’m currently running an old Aqueon heater until I get the replacement…
