So you remember this little fella, well I got him a friend to put him to work, like as a team

B935325C-6C54-4DA5-8D30-A40668377411.jpeg

I poured him into my acclimatisation device (a 5 litre jug!) and he immediately jumped out like a scud missile! Having wrestled him out of the sink, back into the jug he went with a cover over the top.

Then into the tank and a few hours later they were making friends.

I was looking at the tank this morning thinking were is he, with a sort of nervous, WERE IS HE.......

Then I sort of looked down the side of the tank at one end on the floor, and there he was, looking a little crispy!

Now remember the top of my tank is fully enclosed with nets and things, so the stupid creature must have launched himself to oblivion like a Brahmos missile (google it!). So that’s £34 fine English pounds and a fish life down the toilet!

Things look well Shaun,

Which media are your running with your Deltec cal reactor?
Thanks Freddie

I use rowalith W (large particle size) and it keeps calcium and magnesium all in line as well. I just test alkalinity every 7 days and probably calcium and magnesium every month because there always the same. Calciums never budged from 430 from memory

That is some sweet peace of mind.

Tell you what. I’ve been looking at new systems to produce distilled water for ages, so basically a new RODI system

And I’ve found it. I produces zero TDS water every time and it an absolute essential to any reef system.

I can’t believe I didn’t get one ages ago!

Its an absolute delight to operate and the water it produces, well fabulous darlings fabulous!

Ive come to the conclusion that this fellow isn't very sociable and doesn’t like sharing his sand

Ive added 2 additional orange spot gobies, over the last few weeks. The first jumped out in fear for his life, and the second, well, so far has disappeared presumed murdered!

So I’ve decided Im not going to risk third time lucky!

Great pic, I have a "handbag level one" ongoing sandbed issue, my cave goby keeps the sandbed "bits" free but I have the engineer goby that keeps shifting the sandbed, they bicker! :)

The orange spot goby has literally burrowed his way to the left hand side of the tank under the rocks, which is about 1.5 metres away from the centre, and started cleaning and piling the sand up now! I noticed a hole this morning had appeared and when I got home there he was happily working away.

I seem to have given him a little encouragement!

Forgive the picture quality but you get the idea!

My dragon goby is a menace at this point. But man, my sand bed would make a bora bora beachfront jealous.

Cave goby. ;)

DSC_0001 (1024x680).jpg
Ive actually got another type of goby, that lives in a cave, but I cant remember what he’s called!! Lol

So I’ll say he’s a cave goby as well, he sits in the cave looking at me and doesn’t do much else.
