Thanks Freddie

I don’t know what a mis-bar line is so you tell me!

And have you ever seen such a sweet Lillal ol fish! Lol

What is it a mis-bar line @GoVols?

Well,
Here's an older shot of the Regal

See that stripe close to the tail that looks like a wishbone, that's a mis-bar.

I know everyone likes pictures so here’s a group of full tank shots from the very start of the adventure up to date

Its quiet a dramatic change since the system was set up in June 2016

You can also see the decline in the patches of green star polyps in the final few shots, after they were savaged by the asterina starfish, but since the addition of 2 harlequin shrimps, the colonies are starting to recover nicely

That is a great evolution display Shaun, so interesting to compare the growth and changes in the reef from picture to picture. Also I hope it helps other members to understand this is a marathon not a 100 m race. [emoji41]

Thanks @PanchoG , I sometimes post them because it’s quiet an effective way of visually showing how the reef has developed over a few years, and it takes time as we learn how to do it as well. It’s also saves going back through the build thread

Jaw dropping....

Thanks @Janci !

Really enjoyed the progression pics. Looks amazing

Thank you @Crabby48 !

I think the Blue Eyed Tang has disappeared, he was only very small but actively eating algae from the rocks and darting all over the place, but I couldn’t see him last night.

Also the Vampire Tang was looking very thin last night so I can only hope he will be ok

These 2 were the latest additions to the system and I’m assuming they have been getting some bullying, although it seemed to calm down shortly after they were added a few weeks ago.

I can see how the fish in these tanks establish hierarchy, territory etc., and why when we add new fish problems can arise from time to time. They all have natural survival instincts like when they were in the ocean to protect food etc

I also think the crabs must be breeding somewhere. I haven’t added any clean up crews for around 18 months, but there are still lots of small hermit crabs appearing when they are needed to carry out their gruesome tasks

Anyway, the anemone is doing well.......

I went to the LFS today (I was mad with boredom) got very near to it, and turned my car around and came home.

See, I knew I wasn’t addicted! Lol

I was going to get a few more chromis if I could find different coloured ones, or anthias, but no will and wallet intact I came home

My name is Shaun, and I’m not an addict..............

The Vampire Tang didn’t make it and fortunately I found him and removed him from the system no doubt much to the annoyance of the clean up crew.

I went to the LFS a couple of weeks ago, and was saying to the owner for a good 30 minutes on why I had stopped buying expensive colonies as I prefer to grow them from frags so they grow in ‘my water’.

Anyway, I left with a Colony at £90!! Lol

I added it on a Friday, and on Sunday this was what was left. I can’t even remember the name but it was supposed to swell up and eat is a most bizarre way.

It never really swelled up and this is the result. The Regal angel is in the picture and was pecking at the remains, but I don’t think he was the culprit

Anyway £90 gone..........
