That really sucks!

I would bet the Regal didn't do it, he was just being opportunistic and getting the remains.

He couldn’t possibly be nasty to anything with a face like this...... lol

I wish I had bought the 650 instead of 170. Are u limited to any fish that u want to the tank or is ur tank the right size for all the fish u want? Following along
The S 650 is big enough for most if not all normal fish we can buy from the LFS’s. It’s long, deep and wide and very well built. There is a huge difference in size between a 170 and 650 but from my experience bigger is easier to maintain and look after. I had the E260 for a few months before upgrading.

And thanks for following along.

How is the coral, it didn't look like it was about to let go just super ****** off?
(Urinated)
Well it will be now because it’s been in the dustbin for over a week!!

It was dead/dying and if you look at the pictures all the flesh was disappearing leaving the skeleton, I think the Regal was just picking at bits left

The coral should have been 4 times the size and blown up like it was in the shop, but it’s another example of why I shouldn’t buy larger colonies that are established. My experience says frags stand much more chance than larger colonies which have been accustomed to certain water parameters for a long time. Virtualy every large colony I have ever purchased have not made it beyond a month or so. I just need to remember this when being overcome by the excitement of the LFS!! Lol

I know everyone likes pictures so here’s a group of full tank shots from the very start of the adventure up to date

Its quiet a dramatic change since the system was set up in June 2016

You can also see the decline in the patches of green star polyps in the final few shots, after they were savaged by the asterina starfish, but since the addition of 2 harlequin shrimps, the colonies are starting to recover nicely

I love when people accept that photography is a great companion hobby! ;)
Looking very nice. :)

Thank you and I agree Simon, it’s a perfect companion hobby for the simple reason we have such stunning subjects, especially when you get in close
