Here’s a picture of a montipora coral and you can see the difference lighting can make

Yes, this is a good illustration of how strong Blues can make certain colors pop, but somewhat at the cost of contrast.

This is the reason that I am trying to not over do it with blue in my choice for T5 bulbs.

How do you find the blue throat? I have always loved them but am worried about them with the corals/inverts
I have a mated pair, and apart from being a very big presence in the tank, they get on fine with everyone, no issues. And they don’t go anywhere near corals

They may take a crab or rock ‘tank surfing’ from time to time, but that’s usually when they are trying to build a nest somewhere, again!

I find myself in a very strange position after spending a year or so constantly fiddling with my tank and system as a whole.

The tank is mature, and apart from usual minor maintenance doesn’t really take much looking after.

I do a water change of around 18% once a month , clean the skimmer every 2 weeks or so. I like to keep the glass very clean so do this usually every 2 days. I still test every 7-10 days.

I guess this is what happens when it’s matured, this is my first time

Anyway, another picture......
