We picked up about 50 LB of Florida live rock and we are trying to identify some hitchhikers. This looks like some kind of shellfish but we have no idea what kind. It appears to be a filter feeder of some kind. There is a small colony of about 6. they vary in size from 2-4 inches. They seem to be somewhat light sensitive. they slam shut if disturbed.
Thanks guys

That is a Turkey Wing, Arca zebra. Very common hitch hiker on live rock from Florida. Feeds on phytoplankton.

Agree with @Baronen , you got some bryopsis sprouting up there. Try and keep that in check, that stuff is an extreme pest. Its a shame you didnt have an emerald crab hitchhiker XD. *Try and get a male emerald crab, they are more keen on eating bryopsis

We are on our way to our LFS. Crabs are easy. A muscle colony sound cool as soon as we take care of the bryopsis.
