My new Red Sea reefer 350 G2 lights producing too much shimmer effect unless I trounce the aquarium with heavy dose of Blue. Such a bummer, have been looking forward to this new aquarium set up! Should I return the light fixtures and mount a Radion? Any after market diffusers available? Your input is much appreciated! Thanks!

Radions have less shimmer (and you add a diffuser to further reduce this if so desired), although they're more expensive - so returning the ReefLEDs for Radions is going to most likely end up costing more. I believe EcoTech still has a 15% off sale on XR15 G5s - so that's also an option over the newest XR15 G6s.

I use a mix of XR30 and XR15 Radion G5s with diffusers (aka: splash guards) on my Red Sea 750.

What about adding a Radion xr 15 in the middle !! , does anyone here think it would offset the shimmer ?

A lot of shimmer can be eliminated with less surface agitation. It might not be possible with your specific setup but aiming the returns down and adjusting powerhead placement can nearly eliminate shimmer - again only if your setup is able to do so.

I use Reefi Unos and the shimmer is not bad and they don't blind you when your sitting down. I have my gyre agitating the surface to I get some shimmer but nothing crazy. The tank is in the same room as the TV and the wife doesnt complain.

Interested in looking into Reefi Unos. Thanks! Do you have a pic of the mounting?

I had them rear mounted but the stair trim didn't allow the height I wanted. I moved them to the side. This area of the house has 20ft ceilings and the wife said he'll no to ceiling mount. I've now had these installed since Feb. The side mounting has worked great for me. These are the T channel kits Daniel sells on the site. I shortened the vertical post after these were taken to keep them out of the side view.
