I’m shipping a frag from Mass to Texas.
High of 74 and a low of 63 at night in mass
High of 86 where it’s going in Texas.

I’m leaning towards not using a heat pack because of the Texas high.
Box is lined with 1” styrofoam pieces together. Will have a bag lining the box and filled with packing peanuts/or other padding.

am I correct in assuming a little cold is better than hot?

I think that is a correct assumption. But - If you sent the coral in the evening - with priority overnight - it should arrive in TX before the temp is 86 right? In other words - perhaps a short-term heating pack (I believe they are available) - would help the overnight trip - and be gone by the time the package gets to TX

I think the only heat packs I have left are 110hr ones that I use for the winter.

Texas is a big state. Southern Texas is getting down to 60 at night and is 80 during the day.

Just got phyto from CO (Algae Barn) and it had a small cool pack. Phyto arrived fine.
