I’d agree with you but, I think he’s in a hurry. You can also go with @Joe Glass Cages, get a quote to compare, and go from there.

I’m saying waterbox is available the day you want it. Mass produced tanks like Red Sea. I’m pretty sure planet is the same way.Not sure what you mean, no manufacturer is going to build and deliver a new tank tomorrow. It's impossible with current technology - for glass at least.
Everyone already recommended to start removing stuff into separate tanks/containers - no point repeating that.
Are you saying Glass Cages has an unusually long lead time?

Way to put words in my mouth though as I fully support joe and everything he stands for. Do some research next time
You know what they say about assumptions. I fully support joe, he built my 360 gallon, and will be building what ever future tank I decide to get. But he’s in a rush, and asked specifically about 2 builders who mass produce tanks. Gave him my opinion.Sorry, assumed custom hence the question marks in my head.

so yes, in his current situation, a water box would be best solution. If he was just looking t upgrade with no rush. Then I’d go glass cages.
got any pointers for things to look at if I decide to go that route?Look on the sale forums here, Craigslist and offer up. Plenty of good used tanks at cheap prices.
Should I be keeping the water heated and oxygenated while making the transfer. This already sounds like it’s going to be a nightmare/ disaster lol wish I had reefing friends in the area for some help but I will probably have to call up a LFSInnovative marine tanks come without a sump. Yes you could use everything from your current setup except if you use the sand either Rinse it in a bucket til the water runs clean or just get new dry sand.
also rinse that dry sand
I will look into it and see the time it might take but from people’s responses I might need to press the check out button soon... before I find myself swimming lolYou can also go with @Joe Glass Cages, get a quote to compare, and go from there.
