Should I use a glass top w/ my LEDs?

Does a glass top on your tank decrease the strength of your lighting? I took a little bit of a gamble (couldn't find a ton of reviews) and went with a beamswork 3w quadpower 216w LED fixture over my 75 gallon. I'm wondering if It is safe only a few inches above the water on it's "legs," if I remove the glass top to my tank. Will evaporation and salt creep damage the light? If I leave the top, is the lighting weaker? Thanks for your help!

Depending on how clean the glass is it can effect the lighting anywhere from 0-15% reduction in PAR. But if its always pretty clean it will be near nothing lost

thanks for your response, half of the glass is actually lightly frosted/opaque. Not just clear. See pic below. Do you think the picture would be okay with the top off or a screen top?
