Should my new Anemone stay open and shrink when tank lights are off?

Never seen it close up like this or shrivel before… seems like it’s trying to get used to my tank or I could have a new tank syndrome since I cycled the tank for only a week before putting coral in

one week old tank will be extremely challenging for an anemone.
What kind of lighting do you have? What kind of flow? What are the water parameters? Is there any live rock in the tank? Are those ornaments safe for saltwater?

These are sensitive animals and the tank needs preparation before anemone's should be added. Does not seem like your tank is ready.

14 000 K reef-capable LED for the light I can’t check any of the parameters because they are still getting shipped, I have live rock (look in older thread) it has a medium to weak flow, ornaments are safe just put them in to block off the Kenya tree and condy so the condy doesn’t sting I just wanted the Condy to get comfortable on it’s own

Also is it smart to get some macro algae today to help the tank start up?

It's probably not going to make it. You need to wait until your tank is more stable and mature to keep anemones.

Best thing you can do is leave it alone and provide stability.

Nems do what they want so whatever their in the mood to do that’s what they will do… if that makes sense
