I am definitely going to build my scape on a tank mock up just like @Reef4Rose and @anomeda. Great looking scape.
I had the luxury of having my tank shipping crate to use as well as advise on site and videos from BRS. Having a creative ability and doing photography lends itself for using the rule of thirds. You should look into that theory. It will help in making an interesting design.

Starting a 120 4x2’ and got 90 lbs of pukani which is way too much (this is about half). Originally wanted a lot of caves and bridges but I’m not in love. Will cement in sections once happy for stability.

I was originally thinking 2 islands. Any advice? And I know it’s all personal preference... just curious on preferences.

I spent a lot of time carving out caves and curving pieces in larger chunks.

lots of good places for corals. I might take a few of what you have left and stack/mound a little bit to add crevices for fish to duck into, maybe on right side? Otherwise, it's nice and has good potential

Here is my next mock-up. Thoughts? Using zip ties until I get it right then rods/cement/etc..

Jurassic products. They make a gel like super glue, an epoxy and a 2 part clay like epoxy. The stuff is amazing. Bonds like nothing else. Designed for putting together fossils and bones. They cure underwater as well. You can buy directly from them. It does take time to cure. Be patient go in phases.

To tell you the truth, I liked the 1st one ;)
Thanks. In the photo I liked the first one better. But after looking at developed reef images I really like two islands and the second one has much more crevices for fish to chill out.

I put this on my build tread as well so I can get more opinions. I started with 190lbs of Marcos and 75lbs of Pukani. I uses about 130 Marcos and 40lb Plukani.Ok reefers tell me what you think (truthfully lol) I really like it and I know that is the main thing but I respect the opinion of the more experienced crowed. I have many caves and openings for fish and for flow to move through. The tanks is 24" tall but the highest point of my rock work is 14" I did this for the future growth of my corals (hopefully).

SO THE SURVEY SAYS?
