For everyone running a simple 2 channel light with "white" and "blue", what do you have the white channel set to?

Not a two channel light, but I run my kessils at their whitest setting with red, green, and violet at 100 as well.

This is what it looks like with three kessils a360x at that setting, two ATI aqua blue specials and two giessemann tropic 6500k t5 bulbs.

Besides being a fad and to make brown torches look gold, I think sometimes people run blue tanks to try and hide their algae problems or what not.

A crisp white (not yellow) reef tank is a beautiful thing.

I run 3 Kessil a360x over my 150 gallon and have the color setting at 100 (whitest it goes), global intensity at 70%, with red, green, and violet at 70% also.

I do have blue supplements which do cool the overall hue of the tank somewhat. The shaded areas are blue rather than just dark, and the white bands on the clownfish are bluish, The chromis really stand out as well.

Reason for the blue supplements is to increase overall par. I prefer an even whiter looking tank, but if I run the whites on my supplemental lights, I lose nearly all of my shimmer, which kinda kills the aesthetic for me. It’s a compromise.

Maybe not EXACTLY what the OP was asking but pretty close

I use Viparspectras, which have a white and blue channel only. I run my blues around 90% and the whites around 53%. Definitely not 100%. But I often see people with this light run blues high (approaching 100%), and complain that 1% white is "too much white." So I'm definitely in the minority with regards to how much white I run.

My favorite is a kelvin of about 14K. I tried whiter and bluer.

I only use T5 lighting, and I keep going back to a 1:1 blue plus : coral plus. It has the perfect appearance to me.

I have an Ocean Revive T-247. My blues are at 50% for a10 hours a day and the whites at 10% for 5 hours a day.

I am considering swapping some of the "white" LED chips on the fixture to get some additional coverage in the 395nm-495nm range.

My "long term goal" is to add in some ramping for the LED with my reef-pi and possibly supplement with T5.

My tank is still pretty young and I don't have anything in it that requires a tone of light yet.

I've often wondered this on whites. We have 4 Current USA R24 52 watt led, and 2 of their 95w. We have blue, white, red, and green channels. Our whites are currently at 50%.

Does running 100% whites not really increase algae? Or will that come from more of the reds and greens?

Yes and no. White and red light may increase algae growth by virtue of simply increasing light intensity. You can also see green and red algae colors a lot easier under white light. Excessive par from blue light will increase algae as well, it just isn’t as visually apparent.

I use three white channels on my eight channel system, Coral Plus bulbs.
