Hi guys,

I need some advice, I'm planning to buy a Reefer 350 Deluxe, I would like to buy the Reefer in January but I'm in doubt since the new ReefLed is announced.. I've seen some (bad) opinions about the new ReefLed (based on the single light source (puck)) on FB..

Should I buy it now with the Hydra's and let it sit in the box for a couple of weeks (need to paint the wall etc) or buy it in January with the new ReefLed?

Neither- buy it stock, and add radions or a radion/T5 hybrid

Hydras are a time tested product with a proven track record for reliability and the ability to grow the heck out of corals. I would order now.

Hey Michael,

I would just buy the reefer with out the lights and choose your own light that you find best suited to what you like. As well as your tank needs, thats just my opinion.

Agree with this. I bought the delux to save some money plus hydra are nice lights but wish I bought the radions and the Red Sea like my original plan.
I didn’t even get water in yet.
Take your time and select what you really want. If you are set on the hydra and the mounts then it is a great deal.

Is this diatoms? My tanks has brown spots all over the rocks and glass. New tank so expected the ugly phase. Didn’t want to run GFO but might start to just knock this out.

What is the size of the main down pipe and over flow on the first gen reefer 525xl?? Ive seen some people say 32mm and other 35mm for main and 25mm for over flow. Not home so I cant measure??

I want to put a flow monitor on it , is there a place to get metric adapter to us sizes?? I see coralvue has 32mm to 1in. I have apex 1" flow monitor.

Pulled my RSR V3 sump out today, cut the filter sock area out and plumbed in a Calrisea SK-5000 filter roller. The roller has already started rolling out the nasty stuff. Very pleased so far.

Got my algae scrubber in place and running smooth. I ran off one of my drains with a 1/2" setup. We'll see how it goes but so far so good.

Tank is coming along great, pics do no justice.

question about stand what gloss or sheen is the white stand?

Hello, I have a question reference lighting. I just set up a Reefer 450. I’m currently running a original maxspect razor 300w with 120 lenses. The problem I’m having is that per my Apex par meter, I’m having to run my lights 100% blue and 85-90% whites just to get to around 225 par on the top of my rock work. At that ratio the lights are too white for my liking.

I’m thinking of upgrading to either 3 AI Hydra 26HDs or two Radion xr30 pros. I’m not trying to rehash the ai Ecotech debate
But I’m trying to see what you guys feelings are for this size tank and mostly sps

I like both they Hydra 26's and eco techs for me it was what I wanted to dominate my tank and the controllability. I have two xr30s on my 625. I will be adding two more xr15s as well but didn't need them for the time being. With my radions everything is doing great in a mainly SPS dominated tank and some lps.
