Just picked up a Pintail fairy wrasse from my lfs a couple weeks ago! This sucker is a beauty! He came to my tank in eating frozen food like a hoss!

Just thought I might revive this tread and showoff my new favorite wrasse

Now for my education, how do you know that? Do the males have a different color than the female?
Cirrhilabrus are sexually dichromatic. Females generally lack some markings and a lot of color in comparison, especially within the fins.

I can't seem to get my cellphone to show its vibrant pink underbelly.

Anyway, so far the only wrasses I have in my DT are a carpenters flasher pair and female bipartitus. My guess is this purchase elminates any other fairy wrasse additions down the line, which im fine with.

Yes. I swear ive glanced at that chart many times over the past yr, but finally had took time to read closely how to apply it. Thx again.

At this point though, priorities are to add another Potters/Kuiter leopard then a male melanurus or radiant wrasse last.

I just got mine too. Was very shy and I cannot get him out to eat for a few days. Now he is eating well but still very timid. I will need to get him use to eating tank food before release him to DT.
I really love this fish.

Beautiful fish. I picked one up earlier. I noticed some terminal phase males that were really nice, but the females and transitional males seemed healthier to me. Is this a common thing with pintails or did it happen to be the sample I came across today?
