Yes, octo does make a adjustable stand. I wish I had known when I bought mine because there's looks stronger than mine. I looked In my Ebay history and found the seller I got the stand from.

So I am trying to catch up. You may not know this one. A mama tomatoe and a baby tomatoe were walking down the street. The baby tomatoe kept lagging behind Finally the mama tomatoe got fed up and went back to the baby tomatoe and stomped on it repeatedly, and said KETCHUP !!!!
Anyway what is the flow rate of your pump through your UV?

for those that have skimmers in a larger sump and your drain hose has to go up and over the edge of the sump to drain -- what do you do to remedy that? I am thinking it won't drain via the hose with it having to go up and over the edge of the sump wall
As discussed later can you not put it on a stand so the drain is above? I do then use a shoe mat cut to fit to block the outlet discharge in height only to make it discharge under water. I don't bother with the drain even though I know what could happen I spilled the cup of a Hang off the back into my small aquarium killed 4 fish instantly so I guess I just added a job to my list

So I don't see a consistent ( I don't think ) If the UV light gets the entire return flow or not, Can you add it as a separate entity with its own pump?

Hahaha.
I have a high flow rate. About 4x tank volume per hour.
It’s a 36w uv on a 160g system. Cleared out the dino’s.

Love sump posts. Backbones of thriving systems and just as impressive as displays.
Just a tip:
For your UV, you want the inlet/outlet to face upish to prevent any bubbles which might make your UV inefficient or even worse a hotspot leading to failure.
Does the UV get entire flow from pump?

Like to hear that I just bought a handheld UV light designed to do that. Hopefully algae as well and I wonder how the bristle worms will react. Thank you for the response

I just layed the hose over the sump, attaching to the stand about a foot away- then into 5g water jug. Once the skimmate gets about 2" from the top, it drains into jug. Like a auto flushing toilet. It holds water in the line, mitigating smell. (I normally have a pouch of gac on top the jug for smell also)

It’s to protect my return pump from sump dragons. It’s called aquamesh, it just keeps stuff from getting into the return chamber.

I recall seeing a BRS video talking about using this as an adjustable baffle within your sump. Totally forgot about it.!!
