Love all the purple piping and the purple in the sump! Good job on tucking all the wiring
It’s to protect my return pump from sump dragons. It’s called aquamesh, it just keeps stuff from getting into the return chamber.

Does the UV get entire flow from pump?
I have a 2nd pump in my sump just for UV.

To adjust flow you can either use a DC variable Pump or put a Gate Valve at the end of the hose loop to slow down flow.

I couldn't find a reliable flow meter, so lets work some skills.
Get a measured container, time the water coming out, dial it down to desired purpose-flow, and use a sharpie and mark it on the valve: GPH 100, 300, 900/open.

Florida stone crab. Got it with Tampa Bay Live Rocks. He rearranges the rocks constantly. Also eats all my caulerpa. @LiverockRocks
Pretty sure I had one too. Unfortunately when I moved it to the sump I must have handled it too roughly (I had to move quickly to catch him in my tongs) and he died.

Ok Perfect. I use a foam piece made to go over pipe and is a cup if you will. I thought my pump was on its way out because it was packed with filth that I could not see. I finally took it off and looked at it DUH was not expecting to see it plugged because my return pie is downstream of a chamber full of baton from a material store and a folded piece of nylon mesh furnace filter with a phosphate pad jammed into another chamber flow perfect now. Another lesson learned

Please elaborate on set up! I love it :star-struck:
Thanks, it's not the prettiest sump but it works. It's a 20 gallon brute trash can with some live rock, a return pump, ATO, heater, media reactor with GFO. On the right side of the trash can I added a vertical clear PVC pipe with markings at a 1 gallon interval so I can easily see the water level. Coming out of the top of that clear pipe are two pieces of RODI tubing that act as water level sensors for my ATO.
I was originally planning to have multiple trash cans connected with bulkheads and unions to have multiple chambers but that was slightly more work and would take up more space. I wanted to be able to easily remove the sump for maintenance so I can just disconnect everything and drag it out then dump it. It would have been better to have this on a hard floor with the dolly attachment for the trash can instead of carpet but the many furniture sliders under the sump actually do make it easier to pull it out.
