My tank has finally gone 12 weeks without any fish to kill ich and velvet. A few days ago I passed over my surviving fish back to the display, and today in the morning I added the first batch out of three into the QT tank.

First batch is a purple, blue, desjardini, zebra dartfish, and yellow corris.

The blue, desjardini, and yellow corris were a replacement since the guy who sold me the infected fish some time ago felt bad and replaced them for me. Not only that he threw in a zebra and sold me the tiny purple for $50 as an extra apology.

I wasn't expecting to buy the purple but it's so tiny, I haven't seen one this small I picked it up just to grow it and eventually move it out of the tank when it gets too large (same with the blue). I'll be leaving them in observation for the next week with raised temperature and will medicate them with copper if they show signs after 2 weeks. After that it will be another week before they are added to the display.

The second batch will be a yellow citron, black citron, warpaint citron, coral Croucher goby, midas blenny and longnose hawk.

The final batch will be a leapord wrasse, christmas wrasse, and two other wrasse I can't remember. Since I added the purple I'll be skipping on the copperband for a while so I don't have too many large fish in the tank.

That desjardini looks so pretty! I’d love one however I haven’t got room for the big tank they need by the end of it, for sure my favourite Zebrasoma tang.
The two wrasse mentioned are very pretty - I currently have 7.. It gets addicting

This was my baby desjardini before he died of velvet. It was smaller than the one I got now, but this one is chunkier and a bit bigger than it. I will rehome it maybe once its gets around the 4 inch mark, unless I upgrade (again )

Wow, I love the juvenile and changing phases, they look beautiful and if I could get hold of an 8’ tank, it would probably get centred around that

All three tangs will be moved on when they get larger. My tank is only a 130-140ish display so they will need more space. But I'll replace them with babies, grow them and move them on

My main concern would be the Sailfin Tang. They get really large and need an 8’ tank (or longer) long term. The Blue Tang would probably need that too. As for the rest, sounds like a good group.
The Blue, Des and Purple will be moved away when they get to 4'. After that I'll get little one's again and start the process once more

I don’t think desjardinis need 8’ by the end of it - Yes they get big but the biggest I’ve seen (Grown out from those dollar size juveniles) have been between 8 and 10”.
Regals I have seen at 1’ so yes I would say 8’ but des could maybe be alright in a 6-7’ tank as long as there’s minimal rockwork (1/4 up the tank). If I went for any sailfin I’d save my money and get a velifer because they never come in as adult and I’ve never seen an adult of those guys, only the desjardini sailfins.
Purple tangs will need 5’ minimum though (7-8” of fish.. Yellow Tangs are worse, they get similar size and are recommended for a 4’ tank).
