I've had a TMC UV-C for 10 years. It's not new, maybe Sicce has a new one, it's not a revelation.

Literally all UV sterilizers use UV-C, has been around for decades. Why did I get an email from R2R with the headline of “UV-C! New Innovation in Reefing!” ?

The only "innovation" here is that they are submersible. Which is nice, in case your unit falls into the tank - otherwise the rest is pure marketing...

How does the performance compare to other brands which use a much higher wattage UV bulb. I currently run a 40W Aqua unit on my 75 gal reef (though I probably would be fine with 25W)... seems going down to 9W wouldn't work as well.
