Woke up a few weeks ago and found this Six line Wrasse with a damaged mouth.
He is eating and seems fine and i dont think it has gotten any worse.
I'm not sure if its disease or damage but need others opinions.
I was advised he may need treatment with antibiotics.

Sorry the pics aren't great, he's camera sky and moves fast.

Ouch! I'm surprised the wrasse is still feeding!

So - the problem showed up overnight? For me, that seems to rule out Lymphocystis (a common viral disease) as that would normally start as small white lesions that grow larger with time, and may spread to other parts of the fish. Showing up suddenly seems to point to an injury. This sure looks like a secondary bacterial infection.

Normally, I would advise to more the fish to a treatment tank and dose with a broad spectrum, gram negative antibiotic. However, if the lesion seems stable, and the fish is still feeding well, I worry that doing so would incur undue stress to the fish.
