So the past several months I have had my skimmer creating unusual skimmate. It’s very thick foam that pushes the skimmer cup lid up and spills over. It doesn’t start filling the cup with liquid until the foam creates a seal on the cup. Quite unusual. Anyone have similar experience and potentially a cause?

My current suspects:

1)CO2 scrubber limiting air intake
2)Home made food has something in it that causes stronger foam (squid, mussels, clams,
3)I have some chrysophytes growing on my rocks which is new, so maybe they’re causing unusual foam

This does happen from time to time and what you add to the tank can make it better or worse. Try putting a weight on top. It does not need to be super heavy. It looks like your CO2 media jar could work.
