I am setting up a 57g fiji cube int with 20g fiji cube sump (total ~ 70g); looking for skimmer recommendations and considerations. The tank is going to be a mixed reef with softys, LPS and maybe 6 fish.

The sump's skimmer footprint is 8.1" x 14.2 and accommodates water level from 5" - 12".

I have been looking at:

Classic 110SSS 5" Internal Space Saving Protein Skimmer - Reef Octopus
$290
Great reviews on BRS
Footprint: 6.1in x 7.87in
Recommended Water Level 7"-8"
Light Bioload - 90g
Medium Bioload - 65g
Heavily Bioload - 40g

S-120 Space Saving G4 Protein Skimmer - Eshopps
$288
Good reviews on BRS
Footprint - 5.5" x 7"
Recommended Water Level: 7" - 9"
Light Bioload - 120g
Medium Bioload - 90g
Heavy Bioload - 40g

Curve 5 Protein Skimmer - Bubble Magus
$189
Poor reviews on BRS
Footprint: 7.28" x 7.08"
Recommended Water Level: 9.5" - 11"
Light Bioload: 120g
Medium Bioload: 90g
Heavy Bioload: 55g

Looking for suggestions and experiences with any skimmers compatible with this setup. Thanks and happy Independence Day!

curve 5 and the s120, on paper, are the more obvious choices. i personally use reef octo 110sss on my 40B with a 20long sump so roughly 50G of water volume and it has worked amazingly even with 6(and at one time 7) fish

What makes you say the curve 5 and s120 look better on paper? Maybe I’m missing something but so far, the only thing that sounds better about the curve 5 than the others is price. The s120 and 110sss both sound great. I really like how the s120 can drain to an external source. Can the 110sss do that?
