i have a esHOPPS S-300 CONE SKIMMER and i ran it for a week or so then turned it off while the tank cycled. Now i turned it back on and it is shooting a huge amount of bubbles out of the bottom. enough to fill the display with micro bubbles.

i can not figure out why it is doing this, any ideas??

Give it time, it’s still breaking in. My Somatic 60s took about 3 weeks to break in.
ok, so you are saying that it is normal to have the bubbles come out the bottom? i have had skimmers overreact and create tons of bubbles out the top but never through the bottom, however i am just getting back into the hobby and 11 years ago things were different

Yea. Here’s what mine looked like. See all the bubbles under the plate? They also where all over the sump and DT for a while until it calmed down.

this is interesting .the pic surely shows a lot of bubbles in the sump. So could they be coming out of the skimmer output or further down ? are they coming out of the very bottom?
Does this skimmer have an internal pump or outside?
I doesn't seem to be leaking from the seams .so check the connect between pump & skimmer body maybe?
