A few Skimmers up for sale. Local pick up only please (northern LA County).
1. EuroReef RS5-3 - $100
Comes with new Atman needle wheel pump (just used in a bucket to verify it works). Not much documentation out there as it keeps wanting to show me Audis when I search for the manual. It seems ASM based their designs off of the EuroReef skimmers. This one seems slotted between a G2 and G3 so should be good for a little over 200 gallons. it’s too big for my sump so I’ve never tested it pulling skimmate. 5.5” body, 25” tall. Have a gate valve mod for the cost of the valve if interested.
2. AquaC EV-180 - No Pump ($40 obo. These are weirdly priced on line).
Old school. Not much I know about it other than it used to be super popular and really fell out of style with needle wheels hitting the market. You use a standard pump with this. Recommended was Rio 3100. No pump included. I believe these can be internal or external. Manual is online. Footprint is approx 9”x6”. 20” tall.
3. Skimz Monzter SH1 - $30
You can look these up as they are still being sold. As most of us know BRS is not selling them and likely Skimz has folded. In this case the propeller is exposed and often damaged in shipping. Assuming you get one that isn’t broken (like this one) they seem to work fine. Had it in the back of a nano tank for a couple days. Turned it off, left for a trip. Came back and removed it as I was upgrading to a larger tank.
