Hey all. So my new tank is cycling well. Nitrates have started show up and the 2 hermit grabs that came with the live rock are still cruising about.
However I have noticed over the past few days I have a little slimy algae growth on a few pieces of rock.
It was evident on one price right off the get go but has spread and today I noticed it on the substrate.
I’m not convinced it’s Cyano but am unsure. This stuff is almost black as appears to dark green. It does fluff off fairly easy.
I’m thinking next week going to start adding fish. But want to ensure whatever this is will not involve a major clean after I have live critters.
Here’s some pics. Let me know what you think.

Hard to tell with the lighting but it does look like some type of cyano. Can you take another picture and shine a flashlight on it?

Here’s another pic from this morning. A glob that I scraped off and let sit in the substrate overnight is now spreading into it.
