I’ve got several small hard tubes growing around my acan frag…seems to be bothering the coral…at least it doesn’t seem to be growing.

Maybe 1/2” long hard tube. Should I snap these off and get rid of them?

The cyano seems to be more of a problem than the few vermetid snails

Looks more like coralline algae than cyanobacteria, though it is hard to tell under the blue lighting.
Vermetid snails are sessile snails that resemble tube worms. These irritate corals by extending mucus nets to capture food and can multiply rapidly. Crush the base of the shell or glue the openings shut.

Ah snap. I’ve heard of vermetid but imagined them more like an actual snail. Will start eradication this eve with some crushing. Maybe my crab will eat them w crushed open case.

Not cyano…coralline but maybe looks that way under blue lights.

Thx!

So I manually removed the handful of tubes and cut out the snails. lanced the ones I wasn't sure about.

now tho, I'm scared about all these little white calcium curls on my back glass that's generally encrusted with Coraline...are these baby vermetid too? no spouts...just tiny white curls. really hard to photograph...
