Still cloudy but you can see the shimmer the kessils are still providing with all 10x54w bulb on. It's a pretty nice combo really. I pan over at the end to the livestock that will be transferred over to this system from my 75g UNS.

Oh heck yes look at that!!!!!!! Looks so good. Hope rock is seeded well and get this tank rolling.

I like getting a few pounds of ocean rock to help seed. Always find my system way more stable when I done that

Thanks guys, it's cleared up completely now. I need to wipe down the glass and do an updated picture.

I'm sure it's cycled very well but I did throw in the remainder of my bio brick from my 75 to make sure it has some diversity.

The first fish group came out of QT today. Ornate leopard, CBB, fang blenny and watchman goby and I transferred my sumped lawnmower blenny last night.

They had me a little spooked with their initial reaction to the tank. I matched temperature and salinity so I think maybe it was just stress plus the additional light but they still basically looked paralyzed in fear for a few moments. They were in low level ambient light of my garage in QT so I think the ambient light of my living room was a big shocker. The fish that were most bold in QT seem to be the shyest and the CBB is cruising like nothings changed, honestly the opposite of how I thought'd go down. Come evening the behavior was a little more normal.

Test frag is in.

Parameters:
1.025
78.5F
8.3 alkalinity
450 calcium
1350 magnesium
no3/po4 both came back undetectable but so is my 75g display right now.

It looks like it is considering throwing some polyps out there, not sure yet.

Here is the layout I have in mind. The drawn section in the middle is the rough outline of my current main structure in my 75g. It's covered in all kinds of stuff so it probably wont be a staghorn island anymore :) For reference the box is 48x36 so there will be be 2" all around. The back and right pane are walls and the back right is the corner overflow.

I'm tempted to leave the bridge out of it for more vertical growth but the extra area to mount coral would be nice.

No bridge

Basica layout I have in mind top down

The bridge, it's cycling too so I can always add it in if I feel it works.

Still going thru your build thread, so please bare with me. I would keep the scape 3' plus of the back side to help with cleaning.

really? Does you're have the double pane and bottom bracing, reienforced seems and all that? Mine also has a ABS sheet adhered to the bottom. I'm pretty sure that's there to help with any imperfections also.
You can look at mine.

I love Led's, BUT, T5's are truly proven. I run a Hybrid in my tank.

I may move the whole thing forward a bit, it would help with cleaning and maybe flow. It's all kinda just sitting there until I get my current main rock structure in the middle, then I'll be finalizing all the placements. I just hope it all fits like I think it will

I'll check it out!
LOL, it was mainly to let you see what the actual tank and bracing looks like. Mine is different than yours, BUT, their bracing is the same, and second to none.

They are great, I just find it takes too many to get the coverage I like. I have to say I'm extremely happy with this bulb combo now that I can see that frag under it. It's spot on in coloration to my MH tank, 14k.

Added to QT today:

Katherine fairy wrasse
Naoko fairy wrasse
Lubbocks fairy wrasse
exquisite fairy wrasse
african leopard wrasse
twin spot goby

hopefully they all make it and the Naoko isn't too bad. They are all sub 2" juveniles so fingers crossed :) I should be picking up an established purple tang in the next few days from a fellow reefer as well.

Little video of the wrasse in QT today. All are up and ate some baby brine shrimp and reef nutrition's R.O.E. The exquisite and katherines are the only ones that seem to be sizing the other up a bit.

Naoko has a strange twitch to him, I'll be treating for flukes with general cure and treating for internal parasites with metro and focus while in QT.

Rockstar group, accepted new life spectrum small pellets and flake food today. Still no sign of the twin spot goby, lots of places to hide. Hopefully I'll see him soon. If not, I'll move some stuff, pull him and QT him in a less active tank.

So I bought a tunze 6105 second hand. It would only go on off and the bottom knob wouldn't illuminate. So I pulled it apart and sure enough a solder joint busted. 5 minute fix and it's 100%

Now I'm getting the flow I was really hoping for. Not sure Chumley approves? Watch as he tries to swim off the perch as normal bahahaha. I don't think I'll be keeping flow THIS high but it's nice to know I could really crank it for a dense tabled acropora!
