How do you feel about the new stand vs that one you built for your last tank? I think your last tank was super nice looking.
I like it. I do wish I upgraded to powder coat as far as the metal stand goes. The epoxy seems a little light coated, possibly scratch easy. I'm not sure if the white is paint and the epoxy is black though?

I'm happy with the stand so far. I can tell you already, I'll be doing a more finished version down the road for the removable doors. This was just plywood, I'd really like to get some nicer sheets of wood and maybe do some type of stain eventually, even if just a white wash. I will probably keep the same functional design as access is amazing and I don't mind removing the doors at all.

Yeah I poured a lot of time and energy into my last stand and am pretty proud of it so thank you!

The more I was looking at this tank the harder it is for me to believe I had all this crammed into my previous tank. I'm going to part ways with some of my larger colonies and hold frags/small mini colonies back. I just don't see how I can fit them in the rockscape and have them grow in naturally. It will take a little longer but I feel like in the end it will look more natural.

I elevated the center structure by about 4". It made all the difference, I'll post some pictures once it all clears up.

So far everything has polyps out and my consumption was just shy of what it was prior to break down which is a surprise for me 2 days in. Visually the spectrum is pretty spot on to my 14k halides. The purples and reds are on point and the fish really pop. Still tons of work to be done and choices to be made on what stays and what goes but I'm starting to be able to see where I want it to go.

Wrasse group made it out of QT and are now in acclimation. So far the male ornate has paid no attention to the juvenile leopard. The pintail doesn’t seem to mind the other fairies so far.

Still working on my lid. This group won’t be released before it’s done.

Floating in QT
Eight line flasher juvenile
Radiant wrasse

I need to pick up a purple tang, once I do that it go in QT and I’ll start the GC on the group and watch.

Somethings not right with the radiant wrasse. Seems to be paralyzed with fear but is suspect some form of injury. When I got these guys they were in 1.025 sg, which is awesome but also makes me wonder how they were acclimated from the wholesaler. Hope to see him in the morning but I got a bad feeling about it. Seems to have trouble righting himself and extremely labored breathing.

I took a picture for the seller and then killed the lights. The flasher looks amazing on a positive note.

Bummer, the radiant wrasse didn't make the night. I had a feeling it was more than just a little stress. I see no obvious physical markings or indications of a parasite. The eightline looks great and ate very well this morning.

I need to kick myself into gear on this lid. All current livestock is paying no attention to the wrasse in acclimation but there is some dominance occurring between them inside the box. Lubbocks is getting a little bullied from the exquisite and katherine looks to have the upper hand on the naoko although I dont see any picking on there, just hiding.

The leopard I let out last night is out and cruising the tank without issue today.

My exquisite fairy seems to have injured it's mouth or bit some superglue? Hopefully it turns around in the next few days, it's stuck open.

The naoko is a very cool fish so far, he's looking a little skinny IMO. I'm going to pick up some mysis and brine as I'm out and that seems to be what he prefers. All their poop looks find but I feel like he has a bit of a moon shape to his spine which worries me.

I’ve read that about them. That’s why she’s going in last

eating like a pig in QT. I still haven’t started meds yet, I’m tempted to get a melenarus or some other sand dwelling wrasse or 2. That way she’s not the only newb and I got a few more fish stirring up sand.

Bad news is I have 2 pieces with RTN. Not sure why, blossom doesn’t surprise me as it wasn’t 100% pre transfer but the pink lemonade has me worried. That’s normally a rock solid piece for me.

my neighbors house is being fumigated and my ATO is on that side, not sure if that’s coincidental or not? It’s a sealed blue food grade storage bin, but it does have one small hole so it can gravity feed my float. I’ll be running a poly pad and some fresh carbon until ATI is back from vacay for an IcP.

Same here. My pintail rarely flashed until now. Every evening is a show for the last hour of the day. Pretty cool but I do worry someone is going to take a header jumping into the bracing.

I wouldn't worry as the precipitation is probably beyond measure.
