Snail id please

I may have asked this before but i couldn't find and past posts... can anyone id this snail? Friend or foe? Ive seen a couple in my tank expelling some "smoke" like stuff into the water

Expelling the smoke means it was breeding. Stomatella are one of the snails that has no problem reproducing in our tanks, which is why they're such valuable CUC members. Given enough time they'll reproduce to adequate levels to eat the algae in your tank. Well, the types of algae they eat anyway.

Yea i have been seeing more of these, i just didn't know what the smoke was and if it was a good thing or not... thanks for the info
