Can someone tell me what kind of snail this is...and is he a good guy? I seem to have a number of them over the last few months.

cool - thanks. Do they stay the same size? I have some Trochus snails in the tank... would these small guys be offspring?

You got it! These are the surviving offspring of the original snails you bought. They will eventually get as large as the parents.
I have been seeing similar with my astreas.

Awesome, I think the only negative is that I see them in my external overflow box. Meaning, if the get large, could clog up the drains. May be have to start a relocation program :)

Its a Trochus , not trophy snail, reef safe and does well with both algae and cyano bacteria
