The hermit crabs already removed the snail. So, I just took the shell out. I think the vermetid snails should die and fall off in a week without water?

would be easier to scrape the vermetid snail shell off than to wait for a week

The shell of them wont fall off. They are molded on to the surface by the vermetid snail. You'll have to just pluck them off. How long these snails live out of water, I don't know.
