I noticed my co2 tank was out from my display unit showing a 8.2 ph in my reactor...
according to the graph, I would say Monday @ midnight is when she went dry. That puts me just shy of 15 weeks to the day since I first filled it up and used it on here. My target pH is 7.2, and as you can see from the graph, it has stayed very consistent. I’ve refilled it already and it’s slowly creeping the ph down as I type. Will now mark my calendar to about 14.5 weeks from today to remember to check the co2.

Scored some frags during WWC's live sale. Will post some pics once I get them in the tank. It will be friday when I pick them up from WWC, I would try today but i never emailed them about pickup immediately after the sale... got a Ricordia shroom, Rogue Millie, Garf Bonzai, and WWC Too Legit Tenuis. I dont have any of these kinds of coral yet, so im excited!

Going to get my frags today after work! I stopped by WWC during my lunch hour and bought another bottle of AcroPower for the tank. Talked to my buddy Carlos, and told him I know Friday is when i am supposed to come get the frags (per Live Sale Rules), but due to my line of work- i may be on a job site at Disney on Friday and possibly might not be able to get them before they close shop. So after a short discussion with their team, they should have my frags ready to go by 3:30 this afternoon to get picked up on my way home from work! How cool is that?

Another testament on why WWC is the best. They are willing to accommodate me and my hectic work schedule a lot. To some of the staff whom been employed 5+ yrs I'm more than just a costumer; I'm a friend and a fellow hobbyist, and they really do help me out. A lot. This tank wouldn't be quite where it is today without them. From the rocks to my fish to 90% of the frags i have, they all came out of WWC facility. I know hardly anyone is actually reading this thing anyway, but i still feel the need to document things as they happen to my tank and myself along the journey.

This green slimmer has been through a lot and has shown few growth spots. I intentionally laid it sideways hoping it would grow like it is. Only took a few months... but being that this was one of my “tester” sps for the system, I’m quite pleased with it.

This birdsnest coral fell into a crevasse weeks after I got it, and a small little portioned remained. So I cut it and put it in a hole to hopefully regrow.

Despite the algae, this monti has been through a lot as well. It’s finally showing growth onto the rocks.

Both my digi’s are colorless but the polyps are still out. I’m hoping I’m time it will get back to the color it used to be...

My CuC decided to knock over my BN coral last night. I’ll have the fun task when I get home to find out where it landed among the rock work . Lol

On a side note I think I’m going to take a hiatus from updating this thread. I’ve realized I don’t have a gigantic display filled wall to wall with show stopping corals, and I feel becuz of it I just don’t have any intrigued persons along for this journey with myself or who are inspired or want to talk about it. So on that note, Ill update this in a couple months when I have a better looking system maybe. I’ve kinda felt as of lately my time on this site has been a waste. Aside from live sales, It’s almost gotten too big of a community here. I tend to have tight knit groups in my life, so I will find a local forum to share my hard work with perhaps! Take care R2R.... lol as if anyone aside from NY-Caveman is actually gonna read this post anyway. To you sir, I appreciate your support through all of this. It’s been nice seeing you tagging along bud. See ya in a couple months...

I feel your pain, thrust me, I do. My tank thread has only 7 pages on it after almost a year and a half. As much as I would like a thousand people liking it and commenting on it, it just isn't in the cards as people have a tendency to be drawn to certain things, of which I have no clue what it is, LOL!!! Though I have not had people constantly on my build thread, I have learned that it has helped out a bunch of new reefers as they have thanked me. I mainly use it as a personal journal for MY tank journey.

Don't give up on your build thread.

Ask and you shall receive. Thanks to all for the recent support as well.

Since my last post, my apex has been taken offline. During that time my calcium reactor was offline and I know I had some swings. Some corals got stressed and died, others didn’t skip a beat.

I have added a yellow tang and coral beauty angel to the tank since as well. I haven’t gone crazy with more new corals. I stopped by WWC and got some sand to finally get my fuge completed. Right now it’s a GHA display down there. I bought some more chaeto but it’s not liking having to compete with hair algae. All I know is my Display is 100% nuisance algae free, so all is good! Thanks to my fish!

9 days from today will mark 1 year since I’ve set this aquarium up. What a journey it’s been too! Here’s a few iPhone pics from last night. I have a couple DSLR photos too I took, but I’ll have to upload those later on when I’m home. Enjoy!

I really LOVE that scape! I wish I was that talented. Corals are looking nice, thank you for taking the time and sharing the update!

Thank you softtail, I appreciate you saying that. Its my pleasure to do so.

Im lucky that I have a bit of an artistic eye for some things and the fact that WWC is only 5 miles from my warehouse I work in. Ill give them a lot of the credit for having killer marco rocks in stock all the time. I walked in and seen the two shelf pieces sitting in their bin at the old shop, and didn't hesitate to grab them. I knew they were "the ones" Cant say I could have achieved this look by just ordering the same rocks online. It was nice to get hands on with them for sure that way i can sort of visualize what i was going for. 3 "islands" of rocks, middle one going all the way up, and two ledges connecting them.

Of course I have room for 1 more fish!

Thanks for the update! Great pics to share and I love the scape as well! Gotta love those algae grazers! My tomini tang and coral beauty definitely ensure I don’t have an algae problem!

Thats mta_! The day after i added both the coral beauty and the yellow tang, i had no more little algae patches in the tank. I love tomini's too, i almost got one over the yellow eye tang.
I love those stairs! I need a set!
Those are actually from an install my company did at the Hard Rock in Hollywood. They came back as extra. They work out great to get up into the tank! I made the tanks stand rather tall, which works for sump space, and i dont have to bend over much to view the tank, now i can access it easily!

Thanks Anxious! The one rock with all those polyps on it was orginially in my old 17 Gallon system for about 2 years. Every bit started as dry rock in there too, but grew nicely. I reused all that rock from my 17 gallon in here plus a bunch of dry rock. I dont really do anything special to grow it fast. lots of flow, and just being stable i suppose is what makes it thrive.
