So accidently hot the corner of my aquarium does it look bad ?

Hey guys so i was inspecting my aquarium on lights of i went to grab my flashlight and i hit the outside corner of my aquarium with it a cause a little internal chip if i pass my finger across it i cant feel a thing On the front ints 1/4 inch long by 2/16 wide and goes 2/16 deep the glass has a thickness of 7/16 this is a 120gal 4x2x2 what do you guys think

the tap is to see if it grows

Yea was deff ticked at mysef haha i was looking to upgrade my tank to a bigger one around jan but with this might be sooner haha but you think this isnt dangerous to cause a leak

The tape edges is a good idea.. if you start seeing it expand, even a little, I would step up my upgrade plan. If not then no worries.

Its not in a noticeable area. I wonder if that liquid glass syringe they use for cracks in car windshield would make it disappear?

Alright that was my initial thought also since i cant see any hairline cracks or anything and its like a internal clamshell chip
Its not in a noticeable area. I wonder if that liquid glass syringe they use for cracks in car windshield would make it disappear?
iv read up on that honestly noticable or not i dont really care only think i dont want 120gal on my dinning room floor wife might be a little mad

Its a very edge nick and NOT cravck and should be ok. Obviously visually look at it daily

That could happen with or without fixing the blemish although highly unlikely.

If it’s just a slight nick I wouldn’t worry. I’d remove the Scotch Tape as it’s not going to do anything and looks unsightly. Your best bet is aquarium sealant or glue. Just a small dot on the area or you could reinforce the entire edge with it.

Like most things, minute changes are not immediately visible to the naked eye. The tape shows exactly where the chip ends today, and if it starts to get worse, it will be much easier to notice as it goes under the edge of the tape.
