No fake stuff in a real tank ever... Reefing takes time, more "stuff" in the tank just means more surfaces that will attract detritus, algae and possibly leach god knows what into the water... Just my two cents worth. in over a quarter century ion this hobby, not one thing has ever happened quickly, my current tank is the worst ive ever experience as far as ugly etc... But im chewing through it one day at a time...

At this point, you should probably add some glittery jewels and Gems in the sand bed. Maybe a shipwreck and a bubbling treasure chest; you know, like when we were 5yrs old. Bahahahaha

But someone else mentioned it...but to sum it up...”Yes, dear!”
Hey hey HEY!!!
I like my shipwreck thank you very much!
And if I could find a saltwater fish that would keep the algae picked clean off of fake corals (like FW Gourami does), you bet I'd have AECs (Artificially Endowed Corals). In fact, here's a classic smiley face just to prove how unbelievably Walmart one can be!
:D

This one has a nice blue coral frag where the mermaid is resting her caudal peduncle.

One barrel for part one, and the other for part two?
Hair algae_.jpg

That's right. Every reef tank needs some hair algae to look authentic!

This is gonna look cool under 20K.

I never understand why people would love using those fake corals. I mean, a bunch of rocks and some softies will look way better and more natural just imo, no offense to the ones that like them.

You know I'd like to actually get some of those artifacty ornaments and attach some corals to em and let em get overgrown a little tacky but not the dreaded arches right?
Like this?
