And it ran last night and this morning just fine (other than air bubbles from protein skimmer).

Get home this afternoon and I can't seem to keep the intake side from overflowing or the return side from sucking too much water down. #reefsquad

Do you have valves controlling your overflow from the tank into the sump?

On the last picture:
Should the water line be that high in the left side chamber of your sump?

Also now that you mention it and I look more closely. It appears your socks are clogged and it's overflowing to emergency slots. Which may not allow enough flow to keep up with your pump.

You might try yanking the socks and see if you can get it adjusted properly.

Have the same sump. Your socks are definitely clogged. Depending on your skimmer, you may actually need to add more water as well.
I run a Bubble Magus Curve skimmer on that tank, and my water level runs about 8" with the adjustable plate set accordingly.

That's what I'm thinking, too.
Those socks are clogged.

And @jaxteller007 do you have an Auto Top Off system?

dang you guys are smart. Running smooth now. I wonder what the heck clogged that filter sock that quickly?
If your running felt socks, try the Red Sea 225 micro nylon mesh socks.

The sump has been up and running for like 3 days lol.

We have been doing a lot of adjusting and moving things around so maybe we kicked up a lot of stuff.

Could be. Just clean the socks and dry them out and back in they go. I guess it just something you need to keep a eye on.

Happy reefing!

Yes but not hooked up yet. I was actually going to ask for recs on where the sensors should be set lol .

Sensors will go in your return section as high or low as you want, as long as your return isn't sucking air and you have a water height in your skimmer chamber your happy with than put them anywhere in between those two points, which ATO do you have????

If your running felt socks, try the Red Sea 225 micro nylon mesh socks.

So those appear to be 10.5 inches long where as the one that came with the sump is 12" long. I did find an Innovative marine 200 micron (matches what came with the sump) 4" by 12" sock. Is that a good one?

If it's an nylon mesh sock.

(lol)
I loath felt socks and the nylon socks are real easy to clean.
A lot of reefers keep a bunch of felt socks and rotate them, then they use the washer machine to clean their felt socks.
