So is R2R what Reef Central used to be?

Welcome. I was on RC a decade ago and only got back into sw a few months ago and registered here. Definitely a lot more active and I might be in the minority but I kinda hate these site based auction sales. It’s like spinning people up for no reason. Put a sale on your site and move on. In that respect r2r seems way more commercial/monetized.

My exact thoughts when I read the OPs question.

As for RC, I think the owner has it on cruise control. They have been claiming an upgrade is coming for a long time. I've seen several people volunteer to help with it and they have been ignored. The only forum group that has any substantial activity is the "Lounge" and I believe 90% of the posters there don't own a tank.

The fact the you are allowed to mention Reefcentral here at all explains the difference between the two sites.

Not to mention the overall attitude is much friendlier around here. Newbies won't get attacked for making a mistake, but will get helpful advice instead.

rumor has it BrianD from reefcentral has six different proxy accounts here and has never been banned for any of them as he reads and interacts with us daily, conducting a remote study in effective site management, incognito to the maxxx.
