At least you were smart enough to throw a container down to try and catch most of the water. I am not sure I would try drilling any tank, tempered or not, with it filled lol. Lesson learned :)

Don't drill a filled tank, just don't :) The only reason I was doing it, my side walls were fully covered with zoas. Here you can see them to the left of rics:
