So I know Ryan was toying with the idea a little while ago of having 2 UVs on a tank.

One running at a flow rate to kill ich, etc - and one running at a flow rate to kill algae, etc.

I think he came to a conclusion - but didn't see what it was...

Anyone care to elaborate...? :)

Sorry I was in a rush last night, he doesn't really say why, just that is was "more reasonable", but to then go on to say if money wasn't an issue he would go for two

See for yourself, starts talking about the UV at 3.25mims.

I thought he did a "test" on his 360 - using two UVs...

One running to kill ich, etc, and one running to kill algae, etc.

And I thought he said that one didn't work for what he wanted it to, or something...

He has two on his home tank, not seem him do a test with it, I doubt he would as he hasn't ich and wouldn't want to purposely introduce it but that is the reason he has two on the tank, as algae and ich etc need to different flow rates, I think he now feels for the effort and costs involved it would just be easier to alter the flow on one unit than have two setup.

I think the jury is still out on this one. The biggest thing that we've learned in recent months is that running the UV during the cycling of the tank may actually be doing more harm than good. If anything, running a UV sterilizer (or two UV sterilizers) is something that is likely going to be better to add or turn on a few months into a new tank's life.
