Everyone will laugh but I used minecraft as a 3d modelling program. Each cube equaling 1/2 inch cubed.

not laughing this is genius. I think there are some mods that let you program in python so you can do stuff like build stuff out of .obj files.

you might need a custom script to simulate glue.
