Today I received my baffle from Octoaquatics.com. It fits perfectly in the sump. I'll be placing chaeto in there and maybe the carbon reactor. Not 100% sure yet.

Sweet. I've been eyeing up the same thing. Hope it works out well.

Any updates? Looks awesome so far. What did you use to connect your pump to the return hose? I just got a Syncra 7.0 for my 130.4 and realized the hose won’t fit
Thanks! Yes, I've been a bit under the weather. But here is a snapshot. I also had to reduce the tubing. I found this splicer at my local LFS along with a small piece of 1" clear tubing. It's a 1" x 3/4" barb splicer. You can also find them at your local Home Depot or Lowes.

Will keep that in mind, I ordered a threaded barb reducer 1” x 3/4” from BRS to go straight from the pump to the hose. Hopefully it fits. I built my own baffle for a refugium, need to enlarge the slots just a bit for flow but seems to be going well so far. F62ABE14-7DA0-41C2-9A79-3AF04CC68650.jpeg

An update guys I received my Klir Di-4 roller filter. I plan on still using a filter sock on the first slot and the Klir filter on the 2nd one. They're on special right now at if you're interested. https://www.marinedepot.com/246.html

That’s tempting.. I wonder how long the rolls last? If a month then I might stick to cleaning out socks.. if couple months I think I’ll get one

That's a good question. I'm getting different results mainly from new users. They've said as long as 2 months to as little as 28 days. Depending on how dirty the water is. I might install a 2nd one. Not sure yet

I've seen such a varied range on how long the roller lasts. I'll be interested to see how well they work for you.

A lot of good information here, I just placed my 130.4 order with waterbox last week. I'm looking forward to starting my build hopefully soon. Still have things to purchase and researching products much the same.

That's awesome congrats on the purchase. You're going to love the 130.4. The one thing I would change on my build as I'm moving forward might be my return pump. I might change it from the Syncra SDC 9.0 to the 7.0 Some people like the high turn over. I actually like a slower turn over and higher flow in the display. The 9.0 might be a bit to powerful for my personal needs. Best of luck with your build.

Moving forward with the build. I've been really busy. We have sand and rock! I went with the Caribsea Coral Tree Kit and the Caribsea Coral Mushroom. I might put small rocks in the center with some of my favorite corals. Let's see how this UV sterilizer performs. It's the 25 watt Aqua Ultraviolet. ***opt with the one without a wiper due to rust issues*** I was going to run the sterilizer with it's own pump but instead I decided I'm going to run it off the return manifold. I need approximately 400 gallons to run through it for optimal sterilizing performance.

I check my emails constantly for the shipping email to come. I went with the Vectra S2 DC Pump for my return along with VorTech - MP40wQD. I'll most likely need to purchase another Mp40 to have 2. I'm slow building this thing and promised myself I wouldn't rush into it. Still have much more to purchase though.
