I check my emails constantly for the shipping email to come. I went with the Vectra S2 DC Pump for my return along with VorTech - MP40wQD. I'll most likely need to purchase another Mp40 to have 2. I'm slow building this thing and promised myself I wouldn't rush into it. Still have much more to purchase though.
Same here, I'm taking my time. You can't go wrong with the equipment you picked out. I'm also going to add two more Nero 5's.

A small update on the build. Everyone's build is different and when I purchased my Sicce SDC 9.0 return pump was because it was incredibly discounted and I wasn't going to let it pass. But as I move forward with the build I realized that the flow rate was a bit to much. I decided that the 9.0 is to powerful for my personal needs. So I went with the 7.0 instead. I actually like a lower turn over and higher flow in the display. My existing 32 gallon has a very low turn over and I've been pretty successful with this method so I'm applying it to this tank. Some of you guys might be adding a lot of stuff to your manifold so the 9.0 might be the pump for you.

Moving along with the build a bit faster now. I mounted the UV sterilizer. It's the Aqua Ultraviolet 25 watt. I used these J-hooks that I found at Lowes. The skimmer looks like it's just sitting on the hooks but the skimmer actually locks in the hooks. It's a nice tight fit. Time for some plumbing and finally water to get this bad boy cycled.
Keep following the build, next: Cycling, chaeto and carbon reactors. And finally a controller and doser

Are the walls in the sock holder section actually tall enough to trigger the flir filter to work?

Yes it is

In the picture you really can't see the sensor but it's right behind the power cord. I'll take a better picture later today. Klir sells a magnetic holder so you can raise the sensor even higher so it doesn't burn through your roller to quickly.

Congratulations your delivery is right around the corner. Clarisea filter roller is still very new to me I'm still doing my research on it. To be honest my build is going to take a long time. I'm not going to rush anything. It'll be a few weeks before I put any water in this tank. So a Clairsea might be in the works as I learn more about them. They seem very popular. Best of luck and I'll follow your progress also.
What type of Clairsea model do you have? Awesome set up.

Thank you! I ended up purchasing the Klir Di-4. With the Clarisea I would have to plumb it in and change the configuration of my sump. The Klir just drops in place where the filter sock opening is.

How loud is the drain? is it possible to make it nearly silent with the adjustment of the gate valve?
Yeah, it's a balancing act between your pump settings and your gate valve. I haven't sparked mine up yet but from experience make adjustments every 20 min. Make sure you give it time to level.

I finally filled up the tank today. I will be using some bio media from my existing tank to start cycling the tank. I took the Klir filter out for the moment. I don't want to use the fleece filter for the time being. I have a lot of stuff being filtered from the sand etc. I'm afraid I'll burn through the fleece roller very quickly.

I also received my media reactor amd ATO. I'll post an update of the sump with the reactor amd ATO installed. I went with the Duetto for my ATO the Tunze 3155 for the longest time. I chose an Aquamaxx for my media reactor.

Here is the sump without the reactor. I'm going to keep the water level in my sump right around 9 inches. It seems to be operating pretty well at that level. ATO so far works really well. I started my cycle with Microbacter Start XLM. Let's see how long it'll take to cycle the tank. I've read that it can be as little as 7 days. We'll see...

Update on the sump. I'm going to run the UV sterilizer on a separate pump. I don't want to deal with trying to get the necessary 800GPH-1,200GPH flow that I need. I'll have an update soon. I'm going on the 4th day of cycling my tank.

The tank is on it's 7th day of cycling. I used Microbacter Start XLM and 2 clownfish. Numbers are looking good zero ammonia as of this morning. I only kept the filter socks on for the first two days so I can filter some of the sand dust and debris. I'll be firing up the protein skimmer and installing the Klir DI-4 fleece filter in the next day or two. I will be dosing Microbacter 7 for the next few weeks to establish as much beneficial bacteria as I can.

Well as much as I like the idea of a refugium I pulled it out. If I do add chaeto it'll be in a reactor. I'm also going to run the UV on a separate pump for more control of the flow. Tank is almost fully cycled.

Alright so, a couple of changes to the tank. I added about 10lbs of Marco Base Rock to the sump. The reactor is plumbed in. I used the Sicce 3.0 to provide flow to my UV. I was not getting the proper flow to the UV when I was using the manifold. For the moment I will not be running chaeto on this tank.

I received from Marinedepot my mesh lid, auto feeder, Innovative Marine frozen fish feeder, Aquamaxx Carbon Po.3, Tunze Strong glass scraper and a few Klir filter roller replacements.

Oh and the TANK IS FULLY CYCLED!!! Almost forgot to mention that. I've been dosing the Mictobacter 7 and will do so for a other week.

Nice setup, brother!! I am running a CL-44 Synergy sump and I have two 4'' filter cups built in and I was wondering would I be able to fit two of these 4'' KLIR'S in my sump since I will be running a little over 1500gph!

Thank you! Sorry I'm late to the post. I wish I was familiar with your sump. I don't know if the Klir would fit. Really nice setup by the way. Hope you were able to get the answer you needed.
