In the end 7x turnover so 1260 gph via sump is stuck in my head. The turn over just to ensure temp control with heaters and a bunch or rock. Thinking a slower flow cryptic zone a macro fuge feeding off it downstairs as well. I'm figuring more horsepower that I can throttle back when it goes online and I can actually see effect on tank with whichever design gets picked in end have 2/3 tank length ext no boctank , 2/3 in tank box, possibly 2x old fashioned corner overflows.
I could even split the return with a second tank one day with larger pump.
Anyone know of issues throttling a pumps output tomuch with a gate valve?

Nope. Just know you need the high Head pressure ones.

My pump is choked back at the tank with a gate valve, however my pump is an absolute MONSTER. With a DC pump unless it's a high pressure pump I wouldn't valve it back and there would really be no need to...

Mine is bigger. Just saying... lol

LOL!!!!! We'll have to whip out some tape measures and see for sure!

Stick with Iwaki...

to Be honest before I hurt my back changing filter socks was not my strength so looking at filter rollers and found some nice options for sumps

Miss them too, I contemplated leaving as well, however I figured that was almost akin to punishing myself for there behaviour. Cutting so many ties to those I have known for years on here isn't something that should be taken lightly, although I guess for some it was easy and clearly shows.

So instead I pulled my support, my badges and R2R won't have access to my wallet anymore, closed any account with any US retailer that is a supporter here and informed them why. My future equipment purchases will be limited as much as physically possible to those that don't support R2R either. Which is and isn't that difficult depending on what you're looking for. I think lighting and power heads are pretty much the only things you will have a hard time finding someone who doesn't support.

ANYWAYS, I'm really glad to see you getting that spark back! If you want, maybe look into MRC pumps as well. I have the 6100 and it is a MONSTER!!! Total overkill for my system and the head height I have. MUCH better warranty than the Reeflos.

Love the roller systems, never had one myself as socks are working just fine for now. However I don't have to bend over to change my socks so that might have something to do with it.

And I WISH I had room for that reservoir, I do regret my decision to not shrink the laundry room and have a bigger sump room, even the wife gave me the okay to do it. However at the time I didn't really grasp how much fish stuff I really had and didn't account for it.

My friend Rich stopped over other day. He is one of best things that came outta R2R a fellow misfit Reefer.
He gave my glass a world class razor blading and kept his photo skills sharp.
