Hey guys. A few weeks ago my shipment of live rock came in from Tampa Bay Saltwater. Most of the stuff on the rock I can pretty much identify well, except for this.
What are the white things mixed in with the feather caulerpa?
When the rock first came, they looked like little translucent tubes, so I just presumed they were sponges of some kind. However, they have grown extremely fast (all the stuff you see is basically new growth over two weeks or so). Fast growth doesn't scream sponge to me at all, and they don't seem to have any visible holes. So now I'm wondering if it's a macro instead. Except they are still whitish/clear, which is not a color that algae should be. So I'm just at a loss.
