Some sort of Pods?

Any idea what these are? I am hoping they
are beneficial critters. I have looked at my sump for a while. Just got back from being out of town for a weeks em doing some cleaning I noticed a ton of these guys attached to the walls of my sump. Really hoping they are not invasive, detrimental to the system.

I was trying to delete the post. I think they are some sort of beneficial sponge?

Pinneaple sponges. Harmless filter feeders. I think they are silica based.
