I think I saw it in action, this morning without lights on I went down and it could've been one of my cleaner shrimp? Is that crazy?

Sorry for your loss. Did you feed it recently? I had issues with other types of shrimps and even my clownfish where when I fed my touch they were still hungry and wanted it from the torches mouth despite that I fed then before!

My best guess is the head popped off which isn’t uncommon and it got sucked up in a wave maker by the sounds of your description.

That looks like like polyp bail out or too much flow… I’ve never had a problem with shrimp I have 8 total in my tank and zero issues. Not saying it couldn’t be the shrimp but time will tell as you have more torches lol..

My suspects would either be the foxface (losts of people have had them suddenly eat coral after not touching it before) or the flame angel, cause well its an angel lol. Sucks thats a pretty torch!
